OOTDs: Springtime Looks

**Note: These OOTD's are NOT from this week, given that it's been absolutely FREEZING around here. These are from about two weeks ago, that I never got around to posting! Just a little something to remind us that warm, sunny weather should be back in no time! :)**

Apologies...and Exciting News!

Hey everyone! Hope you have all had a wonderful weekend...as well as a wonderful week, since I haven't sat down to blog or catch up on other blogs since MONDAY. Yikes!! Sorry for being such a serious slacker! Luckily the end of the semester is just around the corner (six days of class left for me!) so I should be able to step it up once I make it through finals and whatnot.

Anyways, this post is MOSTLY about some exciting updates in my life, which I can't wait to share with you! For those of you who remember, I have been planning on transferring to a new college for quite a while now, and sent in all of my applications, SAT scores, transcripts, etc. in January. In my most recent post about transferring, I shared with you all that I had applied to 4 schools: Chapel Hill, University of Texas, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech (all of the Texas schools due to the fact that my family is moving there in June). When I visited UT and A&M I liked both of them quite a bit, but I guess I didn't really LOVE either of them. There was just something a little "off" about both of them for me personally...and as a sophomore who will be transferring at the start of my junior year, I wanted to be absolutely sure that I LOVED wherever I was going. So, I applied to two more schools that I knew I would love, but didn't originally apply to because I thought they would be too expensive: Clemson (where my boyfriend Derek goes) and Auburn. After sitting down and discussing it with my parents, we realized that those two schools actually could fall within our budget.

SO. The results? I got denied from Chapel Hill (I wasn't exactly shocked), waitlisted at A&M (which I was actually quite surprised about) and accepted everywhere else. The final decision....?

CLEMSON. I guess after a year and a half of visiting Derek there, it just really grew on me. The campus is beautiful, the students are so friendly, I love the school spirit, and I actually really like the fact that the school is kind of in the middle of nowhere. I've already been in touch with the TriDelt chapter there and I'm SO excited to meet all of them. I'm on the hunt for an apartment and roommates there, and my orientation is in June. Plus the fact that Derek and I will be going to school together for a semester makes me pretty happy too (he's graduating in December).

I can't wait to get everything figured out and finalized...and I promise to keep you all updated in the meantime!

Prom Weekend

Hope everyone has enjoyed their weekend and is managing is to soak up these last few hours before Monday comes back around! I had a nice, quiet weekend at home, which was completely welcome after the hectic week I had last week. Both of my sisters had PROM this weekend, so luckily I got to partake in some of the fun like going to get our nails done and seeing them get their hair done at the salon. They both looked SO beautiful in their dresses--it's hard to believe how old they look!! Brooke went to her junior prom with a big group of her friends, and Anna (who's only a freshman) is dating a junior boy who took her as his date.

I never got to go to prom since I attended an all-girls boarding school (no boys=no prom...although we did have winter formals and such) so I was happy to be involved in all the prom excitement!

"Jorts" Advice Needed!

Hey everyone, so today I'm coming to YOU all for advice! Since the weather's getting to be preeeetty warm lately (minus today...50 degrees anyone??) I've been trying to add some nice spring and summer pieces to my wardrobe, and it just hit me today: I don't own any denim shorts! Gray shorts? Got 'em. Khaki shorts? Of course. Dark blue, light blue, pink, green, seersucker, patterned? Have them all. But jean shorts (popularly known as jorts)? Nope!

I used to not really be a fan of denim shorts, since I think a nice pair of chino shorts looks much classier and put together. However, I've been seeing a lot of cute looks on Pinterest and on other blogs that are featuring denim shorts, so I'm ready to try them out for myself! I really like the way a cute pair of denim shorts looks when paired with a flowy, colorful blouse, and I'm sure I can find some other fun ways to style them too! I also happen to remember Derek once commenting on how he thought girls looked hot in jean shorts [ahem, only if that girl is ME, mister ;) ]. However, I have absolutely NO idea where to buy denim shorts....which is where you all come in! First of all, how do YOU feel about denim shorts--love 'em, or hate 'em? Second, where do you BUY cute denim shorts? I don't want anything too tattered or destroyed looking...I think I'd prefer to go with a darker-colored, cuffed pair of shorts--although I'm sure I can deal with a little bit of fraying, if they're cute! Any advice?
