Hey everyone! Hope you have all had a wonderful weekend...as well as a wonderful week, since I haven't sat down to blog or catch up on other blogs since MONDAY. Yikes!! Sorry for being such a serious slacker! Luckily the end of the semester is just around the corner (six days of class left for me!) so I should be able to step it up once I make it through finals and whatnot.
Anyways, this post is MOSTLY about some exciting updates in my life, which I can't wait to share with you! For those of you who remember, I have been planning on transferring to a new college for quite a while now, and sent in all of my applications, SAT scores, transcripts, etc. in January. In my most recent post about transferring, I shared with you all that I had applied to 4 schools: Chapel Hill, University of Texas, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech (all of the Texas schools due to the fact that my family is moving there in June). When I visited UT and A&M I liked both of them quite a bit, but I guess I didn't really LOVE either of them. There was just something a little "off" about both of them for me personally...and as a sophomore who will be transferring at the start of my junior year, I wanted to be absolutely sure that I LOVED wherever I was going. So, I applied to two more schools that I knew I would love, but didn't originally apply to because I thought they would be too expensive: Clemson (where my boyfriend Derek goes) and Auburn. After sitting down and discussing it with my parents, we realized that those two schools actually could fall within our budget.
SO. The results? I got denied from Chapel Hill (I wasn't exactly shocked), waitlisted at A&M (which I was actually quite surprised about) and accepted everywhere else. The final decision....?
CLEMSON. I guess after a year and a half of visiting Derek there, it just really grew on me. The campus is beautiful, the students are so friendly, I love the school spirit, and I actually really like the fact that the school is kind of in the middle of nowhere. I've already been in touch with the TriDelt chapter there and I'm SO excited to meet all of them. I'm on the hunt for an apartment and roommates there, and my orientation is in June. Plus the fact that Derek and I will be going to school together for a semester makes me pretty happy too (he's graduating in December).
I can't wait to get everything figured out and finalized...and I promise to keep you all updated in the meantime!
